We are recruiting on behalf of a privately owned construction, refurbishment and maintenance main contractor working across all sectors. Due to the continued growth of our client, they are now looking to recruit an IT Support Apprentice to join the business.
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, based in Paisley.
As well as entering full-time employment with an exciting firm, you will have the opportunity to earn as you learn. Fully funded for those aged 16 – 24, you will have the opportunity to gain nationally and industry recognised IT qualifications and certifications. The duration of the training programme is 12 months, but we have an excellent success rate of Apprentices being kept on by our clients.
Qualifications and certifications received upon completion:
- SCQF 6-8 Diploma in IT & Telecommunication
- 4x Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certificates from the following
- Operating Systems
- Cyber Security
- Server Administration
- Cloud Computing
- Mobility & Devices

As an IT Apprentice you will work alongside the existing IT team and provide support with a broad range of tasks and duties. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Administer and support a stable and robust network. (both physical and virtual environments)
- Ensure the smooth running of the network resource
- Ensure the smooth operation of all communications, incorporating document management, email and telephone systems
- Laptop, Desktop and printer Support
- Remote support of site computers
Starting salary for this position is flexible and dependent on experience.
However, there is a salary progression scheme in place for Apprentice’s within this business. This company also have a proud history of employing, developing and progress their Apprentice’s therefore there is also career progression opportunities for the right people.
This role would ideally suit a recent school or college leaver who is interested in technology. Or students who are looking to leave school or college.
To be successful, candidates should have a relevant school-level IT qualification such as Higher Computing Science. National 5 in Maths and English is also preferable.
In addition, you will have a keen interest in IT activities – this may be building PCs in your spare time or learning new software languages on Code Academy.
You will be able to take initiative and have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. You will be customer focused, be approachable and have a desire to help others.
