We are delighted to be supporting an innovative company in Edinburgh who develop advanced visualization products and services for the medical imaging market.Our client are currently looking for an IT Apprentice to join our team and assist within a small, busy IT department. This is an excellent opportunity for potential career advancement and exposure to cutting edge technology within the medical imaging industry.
As well as entering full-time employment with an exciting firm, you will have the opportunity to earn as you learn. Fully funded for those aged 16 – 24, you will have the opportunity to gain nationally and industry recognised IT qualifications and certifications. The duration of the training programme is 12 months, but we have an excellent success rate of Apprentices being kept on by our clients.
Qualifications and certifications received upon completion:·
- SCQF 6-8 Diploma in IT & Telecommunications
- Microsoft Technology Associates (MTA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associates (MCSA)

As an IT Support Apprentice, you will operate largely in a Research & Development environment.
- You will play a key role with your core duties and tasks including:·
- Providing first level support
- Systems hardware/software upgrades
- Workstation setups
- Server install and configuration
- Support maintenance of the LAN/WAN and Server environment
- Troubleshooting of associated issues
You will also be involved in some organisational aspects such as asset tracking of hardware/software and managing user permissions to help ensure the IT infrastructure operates smoothly.
Core Hours are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00, From time to time you may be required to work outside company core hours to perform system upgrades, etc.
To be successful, candidates should have a relevant school-level IT qualification such as Higher Computing Science. National 5 in Maths and English is also preferable. In addition, you will have a keen interest in IT activities – this may be building PCs in your spare time or learning new software languages on Code Academy.
You will be able to take initiative and have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. You will be customer focused, be approachable and have a desire to help others.
