Commsworld is Scotland’s leading independently owned Unified Communications Company and Internet Service Provider with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Commsworld support thousands of businesses throughout the UK and beyond with their business critical Telecommunication Technologies.
Our client are looking to expand their Edinburgh IT Team with the addition of an IT Technical Support Apprentice.
What will I be doing…?
In this role, you will join the Service Desk Team and play an integral role in providing Technical Support and outstanding Customer Service to Commsworld’ s portfolio of clients across the United Kingdom.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Quickly responding to 1st and 2nd line technical issues and faults
·Diagnosing technical problems / Identify faults
·Troubleshooting issues until resolved
·Working with Telecoms Hardware and Equipment

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
What Training will I receive…?
As part of your Modern Apprenticeship, you will undertake an IT Diploma SCQF 6-8 which is Scottish Vocational Qualification. This involves providing evidence from your day to day job to show you are competent in various elements of your job!
Further to this, you will begin working your way to becoming a Microsoft-certified individual through completing our Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) courses. We offer MTAs in Operating Systems, Networking, Server and more.
What skills do I need?
First and foremost, we expect candidates to have an interest in IT and Technology – this may be demonstrated through your school/college courses or what you do in your spare time!
Candidates must have good communication skills and able to work as part of a team. You must be a hardworking and driven individual who is willing to learn. You must have excellent people skills and understand the importance of Customer Service to a business’ success.
Apprenticeships are the start of a career therefore you must be committed and determined to progressing in the IT field.
