YouTrain are excited to be working in partnership with Edinburgh Computer Services (ECS). We will be recruiting an IT Technical Support Apprentice on behalf of this well-established and growing technology firm. ECS are an IT Support company, with over 25 years’ experience, who specialise in Managed IT Services, providing Cloud Solutions and Data Cabling & Electrical in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
ECS have a proud history of supporting and developing Apprentices, with their Apprentices winning the Apprentice of the Year award at Microsoft’s Annual Awards in recent years.
This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to join an experienced team of IT professionals. As the IT Technical Support Apprentice you will be responsible for covering all 1st Line Support issues and queries. You will also play a key role within the Workshop, helping to configure PCS and prepare machines for Client use.
Starting salary – £9,000 plus expenses (A salary progression structure is in place for Apprentices)
Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:45 – 17:00)
Summary of Duties & Tasks:
1st Line Support
ØAnswering calls from clients seeking technical support/advice
ØFault finding and troubleshooting
ØUsing Client Relationship Management software (Connect Wise) to log and monitor Support Requests
ØProviding remote support via remote access tools such as LogMeIn
ØDealing with customers in a professional and friendly manner
ØConfiguring and building PCs
ØInstalling operating systems and software programs
ØFollowing the ECS step by step guide for above tasks
As well as working full-time with an experienced and award-winning company, the successful candidates will undertake a work-based SVQ Diploma in IT & Telecommunications SCQF 6-8, which is fully-funded for those aged 16-24. You will also work towards gaining various Microsoft Technical certifications to help advance your IT knowledge to the next level! You will be partnered up with an expert Trainer Assessor who will support and guide you from the outset to completion of the Apprenticeship Programme.
We are looking to hear from young IT enthusiasts, looking to kick-start a successful career in the IT sector. For this role, applicants must be confident with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships. Applicants must also be motivated, willing to learn, have a keen eye for detail!
Ideally, candidates will be educated to a minimum of National 5 in Maths, English and Computing
